Looking for a way to preserve your Halloween pumpkin naturally? Here’s a super-simple recipe you can make at home.

The three biggest issues with Halloween pumpkins are rot, mold and bugs. Peppermint essential oils are excellent as a natural Halloween pumpkin preserve spray, as spiders, ants, and other pests hate the scent of Peppermint.

Ingredients:

• 8 oz Spray Bottle
• 1 Capful Peppermint Castile Liquid Soap
• 6 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Instructions:

• Add soap and Peppermint essential oil to spray bottle and fill with water
• Spray carved pumpkin thoroughly and be sure to spray inside, outside and carved areas
• Let pumpkin dry and you’ve got a natural pumpkin preserve spray
